We recently went to Tulsa for a concert and we were able to make time for several additional fun activities on the way to and in Tulsa.
Joplin
We stopped in Joplin for lunch and a trip to Grand Falls. Grand Falls is known as the largest continuously flowing natural waterfall in Missouri and is a very pretty waterfall not far from the interstate.

Tulsa
Our first stop in Tulsa was a used bookstore, Gardner’s Used Books & Comics. The store is 23,000 square feet and is the largest used bookstore in Oklahoma. My dad and I both found a good number of books to buy. I walked away when my hands started getting full!

After the bookstore, we went to our hotel, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tulsa Downtown. You can read more about the hotel on Benny’s blog. We ordered dinner on DoorDash. Bill & Ruth’s Sandwich and Sushi was the choice and was very good! I had the 3-Cheese Avocado sandwich and Veggie Roll and ordered a Broccoli and Cheese Spud for my dad and a Roast Beef and Cheese Spud for my mom.

After dinner mom and I took advantage of the free hotel shuttle to the BOK Center for the concert. It was really nice to have this option, but the hotel is also close enough to walk if you want. I read a review online before going to the concert that said that the BOK Center has the worst seats ever. I didn’t agree with this review. It was a nice venue; not the most comfortable ever, but overall it was good.

The next morning we went to Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area for a hike. It was a really nice area and a good 45 minute hike.

After our hike, my dad and I went to the Bob Dylan Center. It was a good museum to visit and is within walking distance of the hotel. We stopped at Cabin Boys Brewing for lunch before heading out of town. I had One Giant Pretzel and a Prost King Pils as a nod to my recent trip to Germany. Both were very good, but my mom had even higher praise, and said that the burger was the best she has ever had!

Review
We had a very enjoyable, but short trip to Tulsa. I would recommend all of the activities that we did. Don’t forget to check out Benny’s blog to read more about the hotel and hike!
