Benny’s Blog: Dog-Friendly Adventures in Omaha

Hi friends, Benny here with a post today about our recent trip to Omaha!

Ashland, Nebraska

We stopped in Ashland, Nebraska on the way to Omaha. My grandma took me to the local dog park while Rachel and Papa went to the Wildlife Safari Park. The Wildlife Safari Park allows dogs in the drive-thru portion of the park, but Rachel thought I needed exercise instead of barking at the animals. The dog park had a nice open area to run around in.

We also went to one dog park in Omaha, Hefflinger Dog Park. There are two areas to play in at this dog park-2 acres for small dogs and 5 acres for all dogs. I had fun running around the large open area with a greyhound.

Where to Stay

We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites-Omaha West. This was a convenient location after our first stop in Ashland, Nebraska. Like most IHG hotels, there was a fee for dogs to stay. We were happy with the location and comfort of the hotel, as well as the area for potty breaks.

Review

I was happy to find two dog parks to run around in while on our trip to Nebraska. They were standard open areas, which I like. If you are going to Omaha or Ashland, you should check these dog parks out!
